Germany! Started out as an anatomical study on the male torso

Germany is one of my favourite APH characters; you've depicted him well with the tones, shading and the smooth colours.
I've been corrected many times with anatomy structure after completing an Illustration course and I need to point out that his head looks slightly out of place amoung the rest of the shading. You've shaded his muscles and body very well but then his head just looks too simple with the shading which gives the impression that it hasn't been worked on properly.
Your've got a clear light source which helps a lot and it works well with the structure.
A little more highlighting could have gone on his right arm.
You have amazing skill with photoshop and it really shows in your work.

I've seen a few of these shirtless Germany ones around and a lot of the time the body is the main focus and the head is forgotten... HOWEVER, your work not only shows off the interesting musculature to a degree of accuracy, I mean your muscle lines and showing is amazing, but you've also got the face right! It's got a good expression that can easily be associated with the character and an amazing brilliance to the eyes. The blue really stands out and pulls you to look not only at the torso but the overall character. The head is close to accurate in size, though perhaps a little smaller, but compared to most over drawings its great. The shadowing and creasing on the fabric is fantastic, but the pose seems slightly rigid and almost a little "robotic". The background is also amazing and your use of softer shades means it does not overshadow the main piece but brings in enough atmosphere to make the picture more epic.
But overall its a really amazing piece with a good combination of colour that pulls the viewer in and an excellent amount of detail on it overall that many others have skipped out on.
WELL DONE!
